Vivi Christensen har med sine værker skabt et krydsfelt mellem det personlige narrativ og det kunstneriske udtryk. Hun har primært arbejdet med maleriet, hvor hun har udforsket identitet og familie med hendes personlige erfaringer og kropstilstande som omdrejningspunkt.

Vivi Christensen er uddannet på Det Fynske Kunstakademi i 2001. Bag hende har hun en række udstillinger i ind- og udland herunder Udstillingsstedet Sydhavn Station, Udstillingsstedet for Samtidskunst M100, Den Frie Udstillingsbygning, Rønnebæksholm Kunsthal, Fyns Kunstmuseum, Forårsudstillinger Charlottenborg Kunsthal, Kiel, Berlin, Krakow, alternative byrum og hendes egen tømte lejlighed.

Christensen var tekstforfatter, sanger og medkomponist i bandet Ru Himmel (2005-2009) samt initiativtager til og medkurator på 21 udstillinger (2017-2020) på Udstillingsstedet for Samtidskunst M100 i Odense.

Statens Kunstfond og andre fonde har støttet hendes kunstneriske arbejde via legater og produktionsstøtte.

Forlaget RSS Press har udgivet bogen NY HUD.

About Vivi Christensen

With her works, Vivi Christensen has created an intersection between personal narrative and artistic expression. She has primarily worked with painting, in which she has explored identity and family with her personal experiences and bodily state as a focal point. The works point to general structures in our society via specific examples.

Vivi Christensen graduated from The Academy of Visual Art Funen in 2001. She has exhibited at a number of organisations in Denmark, including Sydhavn Station, M100, Den Frie Exhibition Building, Rønnebæksholm Art Hall, Funen’s Art Museum, Spring Exhibitions Charlottenborg Art Hall and in Kiel, Berlin and Krakow, as well as alternative urban spaces and her own emptied apartment.

Christensen was the lyricist, singer and co-songwriter in the band Ru Himmel (2005-2009) as well as the initiator and co-curator of 21 exhibitions (2017-2020) at M100 Exhibition Space for Contemporary Art in Odense.

The Danish Arts Foundation and other funds has supported her artistic practice through scholarships and grants.

The publisher RSS Press has published the book NEW SKIN.
